New Orleans Zoo

Audubon Zoo is a living museum filled with the rarest and most beautiful creatures of nature. It is one of the country’s top-ranked zoos.

On its 58-acre site, Audubon Zoo presents animals from around the globe in their natural habitats. Asian elephants, Malayan sun bears, Bengal Tigers, gorillas, orangutans, siamangs, golden lion tamarins and Diana monkeys, Chinese alligators, copperheads and rattlesnakes are among New Orleans Zoo inhabitants.

At the Audubon Zoo, visitors of the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit can stroll through a real swamp right in the middle of uptown New Orleans. The world-famous white alligators float in an exhibit constructed especially for them at the New Orleans Zoo. Here guests can visit a re-creation of a 1930s swamp settlement and experience the culture, cuisine and wildlife of a Cajun village.

In the Asian Domain visitors meet two white tiger brothers, Rex and Zulu, named in honor of Mardi Gras royalty. Malayan sunbears, Asian lions and small-clawed otters are the tigers' neighbors in the Asian Domain.
